Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 22, 2026

NearCue is a local-first remote that lets your iPhone and Apple Watch control AI coding tools on your own Mac over the nearby local network. We do not collect or store any of your personal data.

1. No data collection

  • NearCue has no accounts, no cloud services, no analytics, and no third-party data-collection SDKs.
  • We operate no server for remote-control traffic. The apps communicate directly on your local network.

2. Local network communication

  • Remote commands travel only over the nearby local network, peer-to-peer when needed, and are encrypted. They never pass through our servers.
  • Every Mac must be explicitly paired with a six-digit code and approved on the Mac itself.

3. Voice and microphone

  • Mac voice mode only triggers the voice tool you configured on your Mac; NearCue itself captures no audio.
  • iPhone dictation uses the microphone only when you actively choose it and uses on-device speech recognition; Apple Watch uses the system dictation interface.
  • Only recognized text is sent to your paired Mac. NearCue does not store audio.

4. We never read your content

  • NearCue does not read your Mac screen, window text, terminal output, code, or clipboard. It only performs actions you trigger and returns a success or failure receipt.
  • Every controlled application must be manually approved on the Mac.

5. Local storage

  • Pairing trust keys are stored in the system Keychain; settings stay on your devices.
  • Diagnostics are redacted and can only be exported manually by you.

6. Purchases

In-app purchases are handled entirely by Apple's App Store. We never see your payment information. The Mac receiver is available as a free download from the NearCue website.

7. Children's privacy

NearCue collects no data from anyone, including children.

8. Changes and contact
